Car Audio:

I am rather proud of my setup, considering I am dirt poor!

It all starts at the headunit.  My bro got me this Clarion DRB 2475 for Christmas one year.  He is a major car stereo nut, and he got me this as a good entry-level unit.  It puts out nice clear sound, and has served me very well!  It looks pretty good at night!

See?   You can’t really, but I had the pic, so I needed an excuse to put it up!   It actually does look pretty sweet at night.

On to the speakers!

4x6 Cerwin Vega Plate’s.   Very awesome speakers.  They sound spectacular.  The high’s and upper mids are great.  I installed these in about an hour.  I did have a little trouble making them fit due to the space requirements of plate 4x6’s, but it was worth the trouble.

Pioneer 2-way 6x9’s.

You may be wondering why I didn’t get 3-ways..  well I’ll tell you.  I didn’t like the way they sounded!  It was too high to come from what should be delivering the midrange.  These speakers have a good frequency range, and I would recommend them to anyone!

The newest edition to my stereo family, a set of Phoenix Gold 12’s.  I just recently built a box and installed them.   One of these days I’ll get around to updating this site with more info about the install process….  They sound awesome though!  All I’ve got powering them is an old school Rockford Fosgate Punch 40x Amp.  It is good enough for now, it sounds clear, clean and gets pretty dang loud….
